Look! the massy trunks
Are cased in the pure
crystal; each light spray,
Nodding and tinkling
in the breath of heaven,
Is studded with its
trembling water-drops,
That stream with
rainbow radiance as they move.
~William Cullen Bryant, A
Winter Piece (I.66)
Spring may have sprung on March 20 according to the
calendar, but somehow I think the weather gods missed the memo on that
one.
It was cold, it was icy and it was
definitely still winter.
Typical
Michigan weather, eh?
But this time around I didn’t seem to mind so much. It sparkled, it glittered, it glistened. It was beautiful!
I take back all those nasty things I said about Old Man
Winter ... but I definitely still have spring fever!
