Tot Art

My sister does an amazing job raising two rambunctious boys. There are times though, as a single mom, when she can’t be in different places at the same time. That’s when I (their favorite aunt) get to step in and help out.

I spent another morning with Kaden’s pre-school class and assisted with their T-shirt project. It required only four things: A white T-shirt, Sharpie (permanent) markers, alcohol (the rubbing kind, not the drinking kind … this is pre-school, after all) and a budding artist. All the kids had to do was scribble with the markers on the shirt and then use a dropper to splat it with alcohol. This caused the colors to bleed and produced results similar to tie-dying without all the tedious rubber banding. It was as easy as one, two and the perfect project for little hands.

Move over Jackson Pollock!

Kaden saw this blog, pointed to the first tshirt picture and said Aunt Lynn. Then he saw the picture of himself on the computer and said "more me please". He was quite upset when I told him this was the only picture of him.
He'll get over it! Thanks for helping out Aunt Lynn, we really appreciate it. I'll be glad when school's done this week. Too many conflicting events.

That is so cool! I think I'll have to do that project! :) And Deni is so lucky to have you help her be at 10 places at once!
